Software Database Engineer

Role Summary

Work on Texas Instruments’ Advanced Technology Development (ATD) Mask Technology and Pattern Generation (MTPG) team to develop and maintain software tools, scripts, and interfaces that support the pattern generation (PG) process. The role focuses on tooling development, process automation, and cross-team standardization to improve efficiency and quality in mask preparation.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include developing software and collaborating with the ATD-MTPG team to apply best practices and improve processes.

  • Design, implement, and maintain software tools and scripts used in the pattern generation workflow.
  • Develop interfaces and integrations between design tools and internal systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to standardize methodologies and apply best practices.
  • Identify and drive efficiency and automation improvements in PG processes.
  • Manage multiple critical-path, time-sensitive tasks and deliverables.

Requirements

Must-have skills and attributes:

  • Proficiency in software development.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to balance multiple critical-path, time-sensitive jobs.

Preferred (nice-to-have):

  • Understanding of semiconductor mask design and use of masks in device manufacturing.
  • Experience with Cadence schematic and layout environments.
  • Advanced programming experience with PERL, Ruby, Oracle, and Unix shell scripting.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or a related field (stated as required in the posting).
