Software Architect
Role Summary
Join the Innovus routing team within the Physical Implementation business unit to design, develop, and support place-and-route (P&R) software for digital IC flows. The role focuses on data-model and flow enhancements, database and performance improvements, and API/class design.
Work primarily on P&R tool internals, performance tuning, and production support to improve routing and implementation quality and throughput.
Experience Level
Senior-level - typically 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, debug, and maintain P&R software components and flows.
- Enhance and maintain IC design data models and hierarchical design flows.
- Improve database architecture and implement efficient data access algorithms.
- Define, implement, and extend APIs and class interfaces used across the flow.
- Optimize performance and scalability of routing and physical-implementation code.
- Provide troubleshooting and production support for issues in the P&R flow.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate tools and features into the end-to-end flow.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred qualifications:
- Must-have: Knowledge of IC design data models, hierarchical design flows, database architecture, and efficient data-access algorithms.
- Must-have: Strong software engineering and programming skills; experience writing maintainable, high-performance code.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Proficiency with C/C++ and Tcl scripting.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience using place-and-route (P&R) tools and understanding of P&R workflows.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience on UNIX/Linux platforms.
Education Requirements
MS (Master's) in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of experience as stated in the posting.
