Job Title

SoC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

The SoC Verification Engineer will develop and execute verification plans and environments to validate complex System-on-Chip designs in presilicon. The role works across architecture, RTL, postsilicon, and physical design teams to find, diagnose, and help resolve functional issues before silicon.

Experience Level

Level - Mid-Career. Typical experience expectations: Bachelor's +3 years or Master's +2 years in SoC design verification; PhD holders also considered.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include designing verification strategies, building test environments, executing verification activities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Define and develop scalable, reusable block, subsystem, and SoC verification plans.
  • Design and implement testbenches and verification environments aligned with microarchitecture specifications.
  • Execute verification using simulation and emulation; run regression and system-level tests.
  • Debug failures and perform root-cause analysis in presilicon environments.
  • Collaborate with architects, RTL developers, postsilicon and physical-design teams to close functional gaps.
  • Document and maintain test plans; lead technical reviews with design and architecture teams.
  • Integrate security coverage into verification plans and improve verification infrastructure and methodologies.
  • Use postsilicon findings to refine presilicon verification strategies.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items are listed separately.

  • Must-have: Hands-on SoC verification experience with OVM/UVM methodologies, testbench development, and debug.
  • Must-have: Experience executing verification with simulation and emulation platforms and running regressions.
  • Must-have: Strong RTL debug and root-cause analysis skills in presilicon flows.
  • Must-have: Ability to document test plans and drive technical reviews with design teams.
  • Must-have: Experience improving or maintaining functional verification infrastructure and methodologies.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with emulation models and system simulation tools for performance analysis.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience incorporating postsilicon validation feedback into presilicon test plans.
  • Nice-to-have: Exposure to AI tools applied to verification workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. The posting specifies: Bachelor's +3 years experience, Master's +2 years experience, or PhD (no years specified).
