Job Title
SoC Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join Intel's SoC product development team to design and verify complex System-on-Chip (SoC) designs. The role focuses on creating scalable verification plans and test environments, executing presilicon verification, debugging issues, and improving verification methodologies.
Collaborate with architects, RTL developers, postsilicon and physical design teams to ensure functional correctness and performance.
Experience Level
Senior β typically requires 6β7+ years of hands-on SoC verification experience (Master's with β₯6 years or Bachelor's with β₯7 years as indicated in qualifications).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include building verification infrastructure and executing verification strategies across block, subsystem, and SoC levels.
- Design and update UVM-based testbenches and create verification test cases.
- Define scalable, reusable block, subsystem, and SoC verification plans.
- Develop test environments aligned with microarchitecture specifications.
- Execute verification plans using emulation and system simulation; run regressions.
- Debug and root-cause presilicon failures and implement corrective measures.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with architects, RTL, postsilicon and physical design teams.
- Document and maintain test plans; drive technical reviews with design and architecture teams.
- Integrate security coverage activities into test plans and regression suites.
- Maintain and improve functional verification infrastructure and methodologies.
- Absorb postsilicon learnings and incorporate feedback into presilicon verification strategies.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for this position.
- Extensive hands-on SoC design verification experience, including test planning and execution.
- Expertise in OVM/UVM methodologies and UVM-based testbench and test case creation.
- Experience with AMBA protocols (CHI, AXI, AHB, APB) and industry-standard VIP from EDA vendors.
- Familiarity with emulation models and system simulation tools for functional and performance validation.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills in presilicon environments.
- Ability to develop scalable, reusable verification environments and maintain verification infrastructure.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred:
- Experience with postsilicon validation and integrating postsilicon feedback into presilicon test plans.
- Experience using emulation for performance analysis.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 7+ years of SoC verification experience; OR Master's degree in those fields with 6+ years of experience. The posting references related technical fields; no specific certifications were listed.
