Job Title

SoC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

The SoC Verification Engineer will design and execute verification plans for complex IP and subsystems (CPU/GPU, memory controllers, AI/NE accelerators, interconnects) and ensure correct integration at the SoC level. The role sits in Arm's Systems team and requires close collaboration with architecture, design, modelling, silicon validation, FPGA/board development and software teams.

This position supports verification work across mobile, server, IoT and automotive segments and is based in Arm offices (Bristol or Cambridge) with hybrid working.

Experience Level

Mid-level — minimum 4 years of full-time SoC verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include creating verification assets, executing tests, and coordinating verification activities across teams.

  • Write test plans and define verification methodologies for SoC and IP-level scenarios.
  • Develop SystemVerilog/Verilog testbenches and test cases; debug test failures and issues.
  • Plan tasks and schedules with project management and technical leads; implement quality checkpoints.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, implementation, modelling, performance analysis, silicon validation, FPGA and board teams.
  • Perform SoC integration, scenario and performance verification for interfaces/protocols (e.g., CHI, PCIe, CXL, DDRx, LPDDRx) and subsystems.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing (where applicable).

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills for successful candidates.

  • Must-have: Minimum 4 years full-time SoC verification experience; strong understanding of digital hardware design and Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Must-have: Embedded low-level programming experience in C/C++ and assembly (preferably ARM).
  • Must-have: Experience with one or more verification methodologies (UVM/OVM, formal, power-aware verification, emulation) and exposure to the full verification lifecycle (requirements, test plans, testbench implementation, test case development, documentation, support).
  • Must-have: Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of SoC verification flow and ARM system architectures, experience with clock-domain crossing verification, GLS/DFT/DFD, power-aware techniques, embedded OS and device drivers.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience verifying PCIe, LPDDR, HBM, UCIe, Ethernet; emulation platform deployment; automation scripting (Tcl, Perl, Python, shell).

Education Requirements

Not specified.
