Design Verification Senior Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Senior verification engineer responsible for functional verification of complex networking IP blocks for next-generation network switches. Works within a development team that owns architecture, design, verification and delivery of switching-related IP.
Primary mission is to develop and maintain advanced verification environments and drive coverage-driven verification to ensure correctness of RTL prior to silicon.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 7+ years of hands-on ASIC/RTL verification experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and execute functional verification using UVM/SystemVerilog.
- Design, develop, and maintain verification components, testbenches and infrastructure.
- Create constrained-random tests and develop coverage-driven verification strategies.
- Collaborate with architecture, RTL design, firmware and post-silicon teams to resolve issues and close coverage.
- Contribute to verification methodology and toolchain improvements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 7+ years of hands-on ASIC/RTL verification experience.
- Strong practical experience with SystemVerilog and UVM methodology.
- Deep understanding of coverage-driven verification, object‑oriented testbench design, and constrained-random testing.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn independently.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with networking switch IPs and related protocols.
- Experience collaborating with firmware and post-silicon validation teams.
- Contributions to verification methodology and infrastructure at scale.
Education Requirements
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical or Computer Engineering (explicitly listed).
