Job Title

SoC Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join a product development team responsible for designing and verifying advanced SoC solutions. The role focuses on presilicon functional verification to ensure SoC designs meet specification and performance targets.

The position works within a hybrid work model and collaborates with architects, RTL developers, postsilicon and physical design teams to improve verification strategies and product quality.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting requires multi-year hands-on SoC verification experience (see Education Requirements for degree/experience combinations).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing verification plans, building verification environments, executing tests, and debugging presilicon issues.

  • Create and maintain UVM-based test benches and test cases.
  • Define scalable and reusable block, subsystem, and SoC verification plans aligned to microarchitecture specifications.
  • Execute verification across simulation and emulation platforms to uncover functional and performance issues.
  • Debug failures in presilicon environments and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with architecture, RTL, postsilicon, and physical design teams during verification and reviews.
  • Document and maintain test plans; lead technical reviews with design and architecture teams.
  • Integrate security coverage, regression, and debug tests into verification plans.
  • Maintain and improve functional verification infrastructure and methodologies.
  • Incorporate postsilicon learnings into presilicon verification strategies.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience required for day-one contribution. Preferred items follow.

  • Extensive hands-on SoC design verification experience, including test planning and debugging on presilicon platforms.
  • Proven expertise in OVM/UVM methodologies and developing UVM-based environments.
  • Experience with AMBA protocols (CHI, AXI, AHB, APB) and industry-standard VIP from EDA vendors.
  • Experience using emulation and system simulation tools for verification and performance analysis.
  • Strong root-cause analysis skills in presilicon debug flows.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively across interdisciplinary engineering teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Postsilicon validation experience and incorporating postsilicon feedback into presilicon tests.
  • Familiarity with advanced emulation models and performance analysis workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 7+ years of hands-on SoC design verification experience; OR Master's degree in the same fields with 6+ years of hands-on SoC design verification experience.
