Role Summary

As part of Apple’s Silicon Technologies group, the SoC Test Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing test plans for next-generation processors and system-on-chip (SoC) solutions. The role includes collaboration across various functions to ensure high-performance and power-efficient products.

Experience Level

Mid-level, requiring a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

The SoC Test Engineer will:

  • Develop and document test plans for new devices.
  • Design and debug test software and hardware.
  • Conduct debugging of new silicon.
  • Provide quality and efficient test solutions for mass production.
  • Coordinate test-related activities with internal and external groups.
  • Evaluate new products' testability and operability.

Requirements

Must-have qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong programming skills for test programs and related hardware development, especially on platforms like Teradyne UFlex/J750/ip750 and Advantest 93k.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PERL) and high-level languages (e.g., C/C++, Visual Basic).
  • Understanding of ATE testers, digital VLSI SoC, and Semiconductor Test Methodology.
  • Knowledge of electronic engineering fundamentals, design for test, and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study.
