Job Title

SoC Power Thermal Performance Validation and Optimization Engineer (Temporary Position)

Role Summary

Join Intel's Data Center Group to validate and optimize power, thermal, and performance aspects of next-generation high-performance CPUs. Work with cross-functional teams to develop validation strategies, implement test content, and run pre-silicon simulation and emulation to ensure robust hardware behavior.

This is a 1-year contract position based in Guadalajara with eligibility for Intel's hybrid work model (split on-site and off-site work).

Experience Level

Entry-level / Early career - expects approximately 2+ years of relevant hands-on experience in validation, testing, or related engineering work.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on pre-silicon validation of power, thermal, and performance for CPU designs and related interfaces.

  • Develop and optimize validation strategies, methodologies, and test plans with architecture, design, and validation teams.
  • Create automated test content and debug platform tools for pre-silicon validation.
  • Execute validation plans using simulation and emulation environments; debug and identify root causes.
  • Analyze and report results, provide risk assessments and corrective recommendations.
  • Collaborate across sites to meet delivery timelines and quality targets.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and constraints for initial consideration.

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in validation, testing, or equivalent practical work (including internships, academic projects, or training).
  • Proficiency in Python scripting and/or object-oriented programming (C++), especially in validation or test environments.
  • Understanding of computer architecture, CPU micro-architecture, and operating systems (Linux).
  • Advanced English communication skills.
  • Unrestricted permanent right to work in Mexico (no employment-based visa sponsorship available).

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with simulation and emulation environments for validation.
  • Advanced knowledge of pre-silicon power, thermal, and performance validation techniques.
  • Familiarity with Intel Architecture ISA/x86 assembly and system-level validation.
  • Experience with debugging tools, lab equipment, and hardware/software testing methodologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience (including relevant work experience, internships, or academic projects).
