SoC Power Lead
Role Summary
Lead the design, modeling, validation and integration of SoC power management, power delivery and power integrity solutions for IPs and SoC products within Intel's Data Center Group.
Own power delivery network architecture, power gating and clocking targets; coordinate cross-functional teams to meet power, noise and verification objectives. Work model: hybrid (split between onsite at the assigned Intel site and offsite).
Experience Level
Senior — at least 10+ years of experience in SoC-level power estimation and analysis.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include architecture, modeling, analysis and verification of on-chip power systems and driving integration with IP and backend implementation.
- Design and validate power management and power delivery circuits (on-die power grid, power gating, power delivery).
- Create models for power delivery networks and estimate peak current demands and voltage responses for IPs and subsystems.
- Drive power distribution network architecture and integration requirements for IPs and subsystems to support backend implementation.
- Define SoC/subsystem clocking targets and lead teams to achieve power and clocking objectives.
- Perform power integrity analysis and power-noise reduction for high-speed I/O interconnections.
- Verify power grid, power gating and power delivery circuits at RTL, netlist and post-silicon levels.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- 10+ years of experience in SoC-level power estimation and analysis.
- Hands-on experience in power sign-off tools such as PtPx, PowerArtist, Joules (block-level).
- Experience with power analysis at RTL, netlist and post-silicon levels.
- Knowledge of implementation and architectural low-power techniques.
- Proficient scripting skills (Tcl, Perl, Python).
- Effective communication skills and experience collaborating with global cross-functional teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelors (B.Tech) or Masters (M.Tech) in Electronics Engineering or related areas.
