Role Summary
Join Qualcomm's SoC and ASIC Design organization to develop and optimize power-aware SoC and IP solutions for high-performance computing, AI, mobile, and automotive applications. The role focuses on architecture, RTL implementation, timing and power closure, verification, and silicon bring-up.

Responsibilities
Contribute technical leadership across the ASIC/SoC design lifecycle with an emphasis on power/implementation and cross-team collaboration.
- Participate in architecture, design, implementation, integration, and optimization of ASIC, SoC, and IP solutions.
- Develop and validate design solutions to meet performance, power, area, timing, and quality targets.
- Perform RTL design, static timing analysis, timing closure, synthesis, verification, and support silicon bring-up.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (architecture, verification, CAD, firmware, system) to deliver complex SoC features.
- Analyze and resolve design and verification issues using established ASIC engineering practices.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance to drive execution and quality.
- Develop and improve design flows, methodologies, automation frameworks, and engineering tools.
- Capture silicon learnings and apply feedback to improve future designs and processes.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly across teams and stakeholders.
Requirements
Key technical skills and attributes required for the role.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience in ASIC, FPGA, or SoC design and development (RTL, synthesis, STA, timing closure).
- Must-have: Familiarity with digital design fundamentals and computer architecture.
- Must-have: Experience with industry-standard ASIC design, implementation, verification, and timing-analysis tools.
- Must-have: Programming or scripting experience (Python, Tcl, Perl, or similar) for automation and tool integration.
- Must-have: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; effective written and verbal communication; teamwork and cross-functional collaboration.
- Nice-to-have: Prior experience in power optimization, low-power design techniques, or silicon bring-up troubleshooting at scale.
- Nice-to-have: Experience improving design flows, building automation frameworks, or developing internal engineering tools.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with ~4 years relevant experience; OR Master's degree with ~3 years; OR PhD with ~2 years. Equivalent practical experience in ASIC design, verification, validation, or integration may be acceptable per the original posting.
