Job Title

SoC PnP Architect

Role Summary

The SoC PnP Architect drives system-level performance, power and efficiency analysis across complex silicon platforms. You will lead pre-silicon modelling and emulation-based performance studies, support post-silicon bring-up and correlation, and provide architecture recommendations to improve product-level performance, power and area trade-offs.

Experience Level

Mid-level - typically 4+ years of relevant SoC PnP or performance architecture experience.

Responsibilities

Own and execute system-level performance and power investigations across pre-silicon, emulation and silicon environments. Communicate findings and drive architecture or platform changes based on data.

  • Lead pre-silicon performance and power analysis using simulation, emulation and modelling approaches.
  • Develop and maintain SystemC/TLM, analytical and trace-driven models for performance, power and latency analysis.
  • Run and analyse emulation/simulation workloads (cycle-accurate, TLM, waveform and trace-based) and identify system bottlenecks.
  • Support silicon bring-up, correlate emulation/model projections with post-silicon measurements and perform root-cause analysis for gaps.
  • Perform system-level tuning under power, thermal and TDP constraints; propose configuration and QoS strategies.
  • Develop tooling and automation for profiling, telemetry correlation and visualization.
  • Present results and recommendations to architecture, design, firmware, software and product teams; lead cross-functional investigations.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience, followed by desirable additions.

  • Minimum ~4 years of experience in SoC PnP / performance architecture and analysis within the semiconductor domain.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware emulation/simulation platforms (e.g. Palladium, Veloce, ZeBu or equivalent) and cycle-accurate / transaction-level analysis.
  • Proven experience building and using SystemC/TLM, analytical or trace-driven performance and power models, and performing model-to-silicon correlation.
  • Post-silicon performance and power characterization experience: bring-up support, PMU/performance counters, telemetry and trace-driven investigations.
  • Strong computer architecture knowledge (CPU/GPU/NPU/DSP/accelerators, caches, pipelines, memory systems, interconnects).
  • Proficient in C/C++ and Python for tools, automation and data analysis.
  • Experience debugging and profiling in Linux and bare-metal environments; familiarity with kernel tracing and PMU-based analysis.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills to drive architecture decisions and deliver measurable improvements.
  • Nice-to-have: familiarity with CHI/AXI/PCIe/CXL protocols, QoS strategies, power management (DVFS, voltage domains) and thermal/TDP tradeoffs.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
