SOC Performance Modeling Engineer

Role Summary

The successful candidate will work in AMD's Client Performance Modeling Team in Hyderabad, India, analyzing the architectural performance of notebook and desktop processors through modeling and RTL simulation. This position will require collaboration with SoC, IP & Model architects to evaluate CPU/GFX/NPU processor performance and propose architectural enhancements.

Experience Level

8-15 years of prior industry or academic experience is preferred, with a strong analytical and problem-solving background.

Responsibilities

  • Develop architectural models, tools, and infrastructure.
  • Investigate performance features and optimize settings.
  • Propose and evaluate improvements for next-generation SOCs.
  • Conduct feature performance, power, and area trade-off studies.
  • Evaluate CPU, GFX, NPU benchmarks to identify and address performance bottlenecks.
  • Drive advancements in simulation infrastructure and methodology.
  • Provide technical guidance and recommendations to the Client SoC team.

Requirements

Candidates must possess experience with computer system simulation and performance evaluation. Knowledge of ASIC HW design and verification languages/tools (Verilog, System Verilog, System C, OVM/OVC) and proficiency with programming and scripting languages (C/C++, Perl, Python, etc.) is essential. A detailed understanding of microarchitecture for CPUs, GPUs, NPUs, I/O subsystems, or DRAM controllers is also required.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering is required.
