SoC Logic Design Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
SoC Logic Design Engineer
Role Summary
The engineer will develop and optimize RTL logic and integrate IP/subsystems into full SoC or discrete designs for data-center platforms. The role focuses on RTL coding, simulation, design-quality checks, and collaborating across architecture, verification, and IP teams to meet power, performance, area, and timing targets. This position is based in Beijing and requires on-site presence.
Experience Level
Entry-level - college graduate / 0β1 years of hands-on experience (internships, academic projects, or equivalent practical experience).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop RTL (SystemVerilog/Verilog) and perform functional simulations for SoC blocks.
- Integrate IP blocks and subsystems into full-chip SoC or discrete component designs.
- Contribute to architecture and microarchitecture decisions for assigned blocks.
- Perform quality checks on RTL, timing, power convergence, and physical-implementation integrity.
- Optimize logic for power, performance, area, and timing objectives.
- Review verification plans, investigate and resolve failing RTL tests.
- Follow secure development practices to address security objectives in the design.
- Coordinate with IP providers for IP integration, validation, and IP-SoC handoffs.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Proficiency in RTL design with SystemVerilog and Verilog.
- Solid understanding of digital design fundamentals, including clock-domain crossing and power gating.
- Familiarity with SoC architecture, microarchitecture, and integration principles.
- Ability to work on-site in Beijing and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Practical exposure to SoC logic design through internships, academic projects, or training (0β1 years).
Nice-to-have:
- Experience writing verification testbenches and familiarity with verification methodologies.
- Knowledge of SoC clocking structures and topologies.
- Experience with technical documentation and cross-team communication.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is expected. A Master's degree in a related field is preferred (Master's candidates with no prior professional experience are acceptable). Candidates with relevant internships, academic projects, or equivalent practical experience are considered.
