SoC Logic Design Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
SoC Logic Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and integrate RTL for System-on-Chip projects, ensuring power, performance, area, and timing goals are met. Work within an SoC design engineering team to integrate IP blocks and subsystems into complete chip designs and drive quality and validation at the SoC level.
Experience Level
Mid-level (3+ years of relevant industry experience)
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing RTL, integrating IP, and ensuring design quality and handoff.
- Develop RTL for SoC designs and integrate IP blocks and subsystems into full-chip implementations.
- Contribute to architecture and microarchitecture decisions for design blocks.
- Ensure convergence for timing, power, area, and functionality; apply optimization strategies and tools.
- Review verification plans, debug RTL issues, and support simulation-based validation.
- Apply secure development practices and address security requirements in the design.
- Collaborate with IP providers to integrate and validate IP at the SoC level.
- Drive quality assurance processes for smooth IP-to-SoC handoff.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills.
- 3+ years experience in VLSI logic design or verification, with proficiency in major EDA tools (examples: Synopsys VCS/Fusion Compiler/Spyglass, Cadence Conformal/Xcelium, Siemens Mentor Tessent).
- Programming experience in Python or equivalent scripting languages and use of packages/classes.
- Experience with Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Intermediate English communication skills.
- Unrestricted permanent right to work in Costa Rica.
Nice-to-have (preferred) skills:
- Experience with SystemVerilog, OVM/UVM and object-oriented programming.
- SOC-level design, integration, and validation experience.
- Familiarity with RTL quality checks and debug tools such as VCS, Verdi, and DVE.
- Understanding of CPU or platform architecture and exposure to front-end design tools and flows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in electronics, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field is required.
