SoC‑IP Architect
Role Summary
Design and specify system-on-chip hardware architectures focused on network-on-chip (NoC), cache coherence, and related system IP. The role partners with hardware and software teams and key customers to define and validate architecture for Baya Systems' product portfolio.
Reports to the Chief Hardware Architect; preferred location Cambridge, ENG with remote options for Europe and offices in Santa Clara and Bengaluru.
Experience Level
Senior level — requires 8+ years of hands-on experience in SoC architecture or microarchitecture.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include defining architecture, validating choices, and coordinating execution across teams and customers.
- Develop and document hardware architectures for company products and IP.
- Evaluate and validate architectural options using modelling and analysis techniques.
- Write clear, implementable specifications for IP blocks and system interfaces.
- Collaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to ensure designs are implemented to spec.
- Work with customer-support and lead customers to capture requirements and ensure delivered architectures meet customer needs.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 8+ years of practical experience in SoC architecture or microarchitecture.
- In-depth understanding of digital hardware for cache-coherency, NoC, D2D interfaces, or other system IP.
- System-level experience with large SoC projects, including place-and-route, RAS, security, interface IP, and QoS considerations.
- Strong knowledge of AMBA and other standard on-chip interfaces.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with scripting/programming and source control tools such as Python and Git.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
