SOC Functional Validation Engineer

Role Summary

The Functional Validation team focuses on post-silicon validation for Intel's next-generation platforms, including CPUs and chipsets, utilizing custom-designed hardware and software. The primary mission is to ensure high-quality System on Chip (SoC) performance and power management compliance.

Experience Level

Experienced Hire - Requires a minimum of 6 years in a similar role.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing firmware patches, test plans, test cases, and executing various test solutions for bug detection.
  • Collaborating with Architects, Design Engineers, and other Validation Engineers in Client Validation Engineering (CVE).
  • Effectively communicating test procedures, debugging methods, and results while seeking solutions.

Requirements

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 6+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong understanding of Intel's x86 architecture.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • In-depth knowledge of modern SoC power management.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Perl, C, C++, and assembly language.
  • Ability to read and understand board and circuit schematics.
  • A methodical approach to debugging silicon-related issues.
  • Familiarity with AI applications in problem-solving is a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
