SoC Engineering Internship
SynopsysJob Title
SoC Engineering Internship
Role Summary
12-month, full-time in-office internship on the SoC/Digital implementation team in Yerevan. The intern will work on RTL-to-GDSII digital implementation tasks-synthesis, placement and routing, timing checks, EM/IR checks, and physical verification-collaborating with engineers across disciplines.
This is an entry-level technical internship focused on hands-on implementation experience and learning; work starts December 2026.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Internship). Intended for students currently enrolled in an engineering degree; no prior work experience required.
Responsibilities
Typical tasks and contributions expected from the intern:
- Participate in digital implementation of ASIC designs from RTL to GDSII.
- Perform gate-level netlist and logic synthesis to meet performance targets.
- Assist with physical implementation tasks including placement, routing, and optimization.
- Support basic static timing analysis to verify timing constraints.
- Run basic EM/IR (electromigration and IR drop) checks and physical verifications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve problems and suggest improvements.
Requirements
Key skills and attributes required for success in this internship (must-have unless noted):
- Familiarity with the full digital design cycle (RTL to GDSII) and ASIC digital implementation flows.
- Understanding of deep submicron CMOS technologies and related implementation considerations.
- Good scripting skills for automation and improving design efficiency (e.g., Python, Tcl, Shell).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated teamwork, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Available for a 12-month, full-time, in-office assignment in Yerevan starting December 2026.
- No prior professional experience required.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with specialization in Micro-electronics (or equivalent). Coursework or demonstrated knowledge in deep submicron CMOS technologies and ASIC digital implementation is expected. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
