Job Title

SOC DFX Design Architect

Role Summary

As part of the Radeon Technologies Group front-end design and integration team, the SOC DFX Design Architect defines and implements design-for-excellence (DFX) architecture across SoC projects to ensure first-pass silicon success. The role works closely with architecture, IP design, physical design, validation, product engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver testability, debug, reliability and manufacturability solutions.

Experience Level

Senior β€” preferred 10+ years of experience in SoC design, DFX architecture, or related silicon development disciplines.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include defining and delivering DFX architectures and driving cross-functional implementation.

  • Define and implement DFT/DFX architecture and features for complex SoCs (scan, ATPG, MBIST, JTAG/boundary scan, advanced debug).
  • Partner with architecture and SoC design teams to integrate DFX across debug, test, validation, reliability and manufacturability flows.
  • Collaborate with silicon validation, product engineering, technology and manufacturing to meet functional and manufacturing test requirements.
  • Drive alignment on DFX requirements, use cases, and end-to-end implementation flows across engineering organizations.
  • Evaluate and apply AI-driven methods to streamline DFX planning, insertion, verification, coverage analysis and implementation.
  • Define metrics, automation frameworks and verification methodologies to ensure product quality, testability and production readiness.
  • Conduct experiments and analysis, present findings to engineering teams, and recommend next steps for SOC and IP teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and competencies:

  • Deep knowledge of DFT methodologies and infrastructure: scan, ATPG, MBIST, JTAG/boundary scan, and advanced debug/test features.
  • Experience integrating DFX within large-scale SoC architectures, including implementation and verification flows.
  • Solid understanding of SoC clocking, reset, power management and low-power design architectures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills; proven ability to collaborate across diverse engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to decompose complex technical problems and evaluate architectural and implementation trade-offs.
  • Experience with or willingness to adopt AI/data-driven techniques to improve DFX planning, verification and debug.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience deploying AI-assisted engineering workflows to accelerate debug and reduce manual effort.
  • Prior work across multiple technology generations and high-complexity SoC programs.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
