Role Summary
Member of the Pre-Silicon and Post-Silicon SoC Verification team responsible for verifying next-generation SoCs for mobile, AI, HPC, and cloud products. Work spans pre-silicon simulation, emulation/acceleration, and post-silicon bring-up and validation.
Engineer-level contributors execute verification tasks and debug under guidance; Senior-level contributors lead feature verification, coordinate complex debug across environments, mentor junior engineers, and drive methodology improvements.
Experience Level
Mid-level role with tracks for Engineer and Senior Engineer. Engineer: typically 2+ years of relevant verification/validation/SoC debug experience. Senior Engineer: typically 4+ years with demonstrated ownership of complex verification or silicon bring-up deliverables.
Responsibilities
Execute and lead verification activities across pre-silicon and post-silicon phases to achieve feature closure and product signoff.
- Develop and execute verification plans for SoC, subsystem, and IP-level features.
- Build, enhance, and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM, C/C++, processor-based, emulation, and acceleration environments.
- Create directed, constrained-random, stress, performance, power, and system-level tests; implement assertions, coverage models, checkers, and signoff metrics.
- Debug RTL, testbench, emulation, firmware, ATE/vector, and silicon bring-up issues using logs, waveforms, traces, and hardware debug data.
- Support post-silicon validation, silicon characterization, ATE pattern debug, failure triage, and correlation between simulation, emulation, and silicon.
- Drive coverage closure, regression health, bug tracking, and verification signoff using functional, code, assertion, and scenario coverage.
- Participate in architecture, micro-architecture, design, validation, and test-plan reviews to capture verification requirements early.
- For Senior level: own feature/subsystem verification from plan to closure, lead cross-team debug, mentor engineers, and identify schedule/quality risks.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience required or strongly preferred.
Must-have:
- Experience with SystemVerilog, UVM, and assertion-based, coverage-driven verification.
- Proficiency in C/C++ for processor-based tests and firmware interaction.
- Experience developing verification environments from specification through signoff, including regression and debug flows.
- Understanding of post-silicon validation concepts: bring-up, ATE/vector debug, failure triage, and correlation with pre-silicon results.
- Strong understanding of computer architecture, digital design fundamentals, and SoC integration.
- Effective communication, collaboration, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
- Engineer track: ability to execute assigned verification tasks and contribute to coverage and bring-up activities; Senior track: ability to lead feature closure and coordinate across teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with emulation/acceleration platforms (Veloce, Palladium, ZeBu) and simulation/emulation/silicon correlation.
- Familiarity with cache-coherency protocols (ACE, CHI, CXL), DDR/LPDDR/HBM, PCIe/CXL, Ethernet, AI accelerators, security, RAS, performance, and power verification.
- Experience with ATE pattern debug, Trace32, Portable Stimulus, formal verification, power-aware verification, or firmware-driven validation.
- Proficiency in Python, Perl, shell scripting, or other automation languages for regression, debug, and data analysis.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Science/Engineering, or a related technical field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
