SOC Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
The SOC Design Verification Engineer will support verification and validation of IP blocks and SoC designs within the ASICS Engineering team. The role focuses on executing verification flows, collaborating with architects and implementers, and documenting EDA/ASIC projects to meet functional, performance, and low-power targets.
Experience Level
Mid-level (Level - Mid-Career). Typical hires have approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience and work under supervision.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute verification plans for IP blocks and SoC components.
- Assist in creation of architectures, circuit specifications, logic designs, and system simulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define implementation strategies that meet system requirements.
- Support evaluation of design flows from RTL through synthesis, place-and-route, and timing and power analysis, or equivalent custom design/layout flows.
- Utilize EDA tools and flows (e.g., RTL-to-GDS, Virtuoso) to enable architecture, design, and verification work.
- Write and maintain technical documentation for EDA, IP, and ASIC projects.
Requirements
Required and preferred skills and experience.
- Must-have: Hands-on experience with design verification methods and verification flows (posting indicates 6+ months).
- Must-have: Experience with architecture and design tools (posting indicates 6+ months).
- Must-have: Experience with scripting or programming languages for automation and testbench development (posting indicates 6+ months); familiarity with C or C++ is useful.
- Must-have: Ability to produce technical documentation and communicate effectively in a team.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with RTL-to-GDS flows, Virtuoso, and EDA tools for synthesis/place-and-route, timing and power analysis.
- Nice-to-have: Experience in computer architecture, circuits, or ASIC design verification.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
