SoC Design Verification Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
SoC Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
The SoC Design Verification Engineer will develop and execute verification plans and reusable UVM-based test environments to validate complex System-on-Chip designs in presilicon. You will debug failures, run emulation and system simulations, and collaborate with architects, RTL developers, postsilicon and physical design teams to close functional and security coverage gaps.
Location: Bangalore. Work model: hybrid (split between on-site at the assigned Intel site and off-site).
Experience Level
Senior - typically 7+ years of hands-on SoC design verification experience (or 6+ years with a Master's degree as specified in Education Requirements).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include designing verification infrastructure, executing verification campaigns, and driving debug and closure across teams.
- Design and maintain scalable, reusable block/subsystem/SoC verification plans.
- Create and update UVM-based testbenches and test cases aligned to microarchitecture specs.
- Execute verification including emulation and system simulation to uncover functional and performance issues.
- Debug presilicon failures and perform root-cause analysis; implement corrective actions.
- Integrate security coverage, regression, and debug tests into verification plans.
- Collaborate with architects, RTL developers, postsilicon and physical design teams; document and review test plans.
- Maintain and improve functional verification infrastructure and methodologies; incorporate postsilicon learnings into presilicon tests.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items noted separately.
- Proven hands-on experience in SoC design verification and testbench development (UVM/OVM methodologies).
- Experience with AMBA protocols (CHI, AXI, AHB, APB) and industry-standard VIP from EDA vendors.
- Skilled in creating/updating test benches, building verification environments, and writing test cases.
- Experience using emulation and system simulation tools for functional verification and performance analysis.
- Strong debugging and root-cause skills in presilicon environments.
- Ability to document test plans and drive technical reviews across teams.
- Good communication and collaboration skills across interdisciplinary teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Postsilicon validation experience and ability to incorporate postsilicon feedback into presilicon plans.
- Familiarity with emulation models and system-level performance analysis tools.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 7+ years of hands-on SoC design verification experience; OR a Master's degree in those fields with 6+ years of hands-on SoC design verification experience. Fields listed in the source: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical fields.
