SoC Design Verification Associate Engineer
Role Summary
Work on SoC-level verification within the ASICs Engineering team to define verification scope, develop test plans and infrastructure, implement assertions and coverage, execute verification tests, and debug issues to ensure design correctness.
Experience Level
Entry-level - typically requires 1+ year of verification experience (early-career / associate).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Define verification scope from design specifications and develop test plans.
- Develop, run, and analyze SystemVerilog assertions and functional/coverage metrics (code, toggle, functional).
- Implement and execute UVM-based testbenches and verification sequences.
- Integrate and use third-party VIPs and verification tools; analyze waveform and simulation results.
- Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and pre-/post-silicon teams to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Maintain verification infrastructure, scripts, and automation (builds, regression runs).
- Follow verification best practices and quality standards; document test results and issues.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for success in this role.
Must-have:
- 1+ year of practical experience in IP- or SoC-level verification.
- Proficient in SystemVerilog and UVM for verification; experience with assertions and coverage.
- Experience with verification tools such as VCS and waveform analyzers and integrating third-party VIPs.
- Familiarity with C/C++ for verification tasks and testbench utilities.
- Good understanding of AXI/AMBA protocol variants and processor-based SoC verification environments.
- Scripting experience (shell, Makefile, Perl) for automation and flows.
- Strong debugging, analytical skills, and familiarity with ASIC design and verification flow.
Nice-to-have:
- Prior experience with UFS, Ethernet, or PCIe protocol verification.
Education Requirements
B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics is expected. The role specifies 1+ year of experience in the verification domain.
