SOC Design Team Methodology Intern - 2027
NVIDIAJob Title
SOC Design Team Methodology Intern - 2027
Role Summary
Join NVIDIA's System-on-Chip (SOC) design methodology team as an intern working on digital ASIC front-end flows and applied AI. You will improve design configuration, verification, and automation used across SOC projects.
This is a hands-on position: contribute to production flows, prototype tooling and AI agents, document runbooks, and collaborate with engineers to increase speed and reliability of SOC design work.
Experience Level
Internship / Entry-level. Suitable for current graduate students or early-career candidates; no prior years-of-experience requirement specified.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include learning existing flows, identifying bottlenecks, prototyping improvements, and documenting results.
- Learn NVIDIA's SOC development environment, tooling, and design flows.
- Identify pain points in SOC configuration and methodology; scope and propose improvements.
- Review and document bottlenecks in front-end design flows and prototype upgrades to improve turnaround time, quality, or automation.
- Develop and refine AI agents and automation scripts to reduce manual, repetitive steps and accelerate engineers' work.
- Create documentation, runbooks, and best-practice guides to support team adoption.
- Collaborate with SOC design engineers to gather requirements, validate ideas, and iterate on solutions.
Requirements
Concise list of must-have and preferred skills. Education details are summarized separately below.
- Must-have: Working knowledge of digital ASIC front-end design flows.
- Must-have: Strong scripting ability in Python, Perl, or similar for automation and tooling.
- Must-have: Foundational interest/knowledge in AI agent development (LLM-based agents, prompt design, tool-use/function-calling).
- Must-have: Fluent English (written and spoken) for global-team collaboration.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD, Linux development, large codebases, and EDA toolchains.
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Prior coursework, projects, or internships in SOC design methodology or hands-on experience integrating AI agents (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex).
- Preferred / Nice-to-have: Proactive problem-finding mindset and strong communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a MS (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; expected graduation in 2028. (The posting specifies enrollment in a graduate program.)
