Job Title

SoC Design Engineer Intern

Role Summary

Six-month, full-time internship within Intel's Silicon and Platform Engineering Group in San Jose, Costa Rica supporting SoC integration and verification. The role focuses on hands-on work in full-chip debugging, simulation, RTL/logic development and scripting to support product development.

Hybrid work model with schedule flexibility coordinated with the manager.

Experience Level

Entry-level (internship). Candidates should have academic or project experience; the posting references approximately 4+ months of related knowledge.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Support SoC integration and verification, including debugging and full-chip microarchitecture simulation.
  • Develop and modify RTL/logic using SystemVerilog (or apply full-stack development methods where appropriate).
  • Write scripts and tools in Python to automate tasks and verification flows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product development tasks.
  • Apply AI tools to automate verification and day-to-day work.
  • Participate in hands-on projects aligned with business goals and pursue professional development opportunities.

Requirements

Minimum and preferred requirements:

  • Must-have: Basic English communication skills.
  • Must-have: Approximately 4+ months of academic or practical knowledge in digital design fundamentals and computer architecture.
  • Must-have: Experience or coursework in RTL/logic development using SystemVerilog or equivalent full-stack development exposure.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with scripting/programming (Python) and using AI tools for productivity/automation.
  • Must-have: Must have legal authorization to work in Costa Rica; this position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship.
  • Nice-to-have: Advanced English proficiency.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with functional verification (UVM) and microarchitecture debug methodologies and simulation.

Education Requirements

Enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
