SOC Design Engineer
Role Summary
The SOC Design Engineer develops and integrates RTL logic for System-on-Chip (SoC) projects, delivering IP blocks and full-chip integration while meeting power, performance, area, and timing targets. The role requires collaboration with global design teams in Intel's client-systems R&D organization.
Work includes RTL coding, simulation, IP-SoC integration and verification, and maintaining design integrity through to physical implementation.
Experience Level
Entry-level / College grad. Typical background: 0–2 years of hands-on domain experience through internships, academic projects, coursework, or equivalent training; or a Master's degree with no prior professional experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop RTL and logic designs for IP blocks and SoC integration using SystemVerilog/Verilog.
- Run simulations and quality checks to validate power, performance, area, and timing targets.
- Collaborate on block architecture and microarchitecture definitions.
- Integrate and validate IP at the SoC level and manage IP-SoC handoffs.
- Create verification plans, test content, and coverage points for new features.
- Debug failing RTL tests and implement fixes to ensure design correctness.
- Follow secure development practices to address security objectives in the design.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and preferred attributes:
- Must-have: Proficiency in hardware description languages such as SystemVerilog or Verilog.
- Must-have: Foundational knowledge of RTL integration and validation methodologies; experience with simulation and RTL test/debug flows.

Education Requirements
