Job Title

SoC Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and integrate RTL subsystems and IP into SoC-level architectures. Work with global product, verification and performance teams to deliver systems optimised for performance, power and functionality.

Position based in Budapest with a hybrid working arrangement; contributions span product lines including IoT, Automotive and Infrastructure computing.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The role expects proven experience delivering sophisticated RTL subsystems and participating in SoC integration work; no specific years-of-experience stated.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include system-level integration, microarchitecture and RTL development, verification support and performance optimisation.

  • Understand and review subsystem and SoC architecture; develop microarchitecture specifications.
  • Implement RTL for subsystems and integrate incoming IPs; propose interface or IP refinements based on system needs.
  • Review verification test plans, assist debugging and resolve design issues.
  • Work with performance analysis to evaluate and improve PPA (performance, power, area).
  • Run static design checks (CDC, RDC, X-prop, lint), synthesis and timing analysis; address findings.
  • Improve design methodologies and tools; guide and support team members as required.
  • Collaborate with project management to produce and manage project plans and schedules.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Experience with digital hardware design and Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Practical knowledge of complex SoC design techniques and subsystem development.
  • Experience with static design checks (CDC, RDC, X-prop, lint).
  • Scripting experience (Perl, Python or similar) for automation and debugging.
  • Experience with synthesis, timing analysis and power management techniques.
  • Proven delivery record of RTL subsystems and ability to make and explain high-level PPA trade-offs.
  • Good communication and cross-team collaboration skills.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with ARM-based designs or ARM system architectures.
  • Familiarity with memory system interconnects (e.g. AMBA ACE-Lite, AXI) and processor/NoC/PCIe/security subsystems.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog and verification methodologies.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related technical field.
