Job Title
SoC Chip Lead / Design Manager
Role Summary
Lead end-to-end delivery of the first T28 industrial SoC/ASIC for the ASM Industrial business, combining full-chip technical ownership with functional team leadership.
Responsible for ensuring first-time-right silicon, scalable architecture, and building a strong RTL organization for future platforms while coordinating across architecture, IP, firmware/software, product, and business teams.
Experience Level
Senior β requires substantial experience. Posting specifies ~12 years of experience in complex SoC/ASIC development.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities for the chip lead role include:
- Own SoC execution from specification through architecture, RTL, silicon, and mass production.
- Act as the single technical owner (Chip Lead) for the first T28 industrial ASIC.
- Drive trade-offs across performance, power, area (PPA), quality, cost, and schedule.
- Lead cross-functional execution across RTL, design verification (DV), DFT, PD, PnR, timing closure, and validation.
- Own pre-silicon sign-off and post-silicon bring-up, validation, and yield learning.
- Interface with architecture, IP, firmware/software, product, business partners, and process/PE teams.
- Recruit, mentor, and grow the design team while maintaining high standards for micro-architecture, coding, reuse, and integration.
- Balance hands-on technical contributions with people and project management.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- ~12 years experience in complex SoC/ASIC development with multiple successful tape-outs.
- Leadership experience across multiple SoC domains and prior responsibility for delivery.
- Strong expertise in ARM-based systems, interconnects, low-power design, and clock/reset/power architecture.
- End-to-end SoC lifecycle experience (RTL β PnR β timing closure) and strong pre- and post-silicon debug skills.
- Proven cross-team communication and technical leadership skills.
- Preferred: prior Chip Lead / SoC Lead role and experience with first-silicon or new-node (T28) programs and industrial SoC exposure.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (EE) or equivalent practical experience; equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree.
