Job Title

SoC Chip Lead

Role Summary

Lead SoC definition and execution from specification to silicon for complex, mission-critical systems. Drive technical strategy, architecture, IP/node selection, and product roadmaps while coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver on PPA and time-to-market goals.

Experience Level

Senior β€” requires 12+ years of relevant semiconductor design experience.

Responsibilities

Accountable for SoC architecture, execution, and sign-off; coordinate engineering domains and stakeholders to deliver high-quality silicon.

  • Define long-term product and technology roadmaps for complex SoCs and systems.
  • Lead IP evaluations, vendor selection, and foundry node decisions.
  • Author top-level SoC architecture including interconnects (NoC), memory hierarchy, power management, and micro-architecture.
  • Own the SoC lifecycle from concept through definition, tape-out, and productization.
  • Ensure silicon meets Power, Performance, Area, and Cost (PPA) targets.
  • Govern final silicon sign-off activities: synthesis, DFT, constraints, timing closure, and physical design tape-out.
  • Align and coordinate RTL design, verification, DFT, physical design, power, and silicon validation teams.
  • Partner with software, systems, manufacturing, and program management to secure first-time-right silicon.
  • Manage executive-level decisions, program risks, and stakeholder communications.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and leadership capabilities:

  • Proven leadership in defining and driving technical strategy for digital/SoC design.
  • Established authority in complex SoC architecture and system-level implementation.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating RTL, verification, DFT, physical design, power sign-off, and silicon validation flows.
  • Track record of delivering silicon that meets PPA and schedule targets.
  • Strong stakeholder management and business acumen to align technical direction with product goals.
  • Ability to influence executive decision-making and mitigate program risks.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • Preferred: recognized industry thought leadership and experience driving innovation in digital design approaches.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. The posting also indicates 12+ years of relevant semiconductor design experience as the expected level.
