Job Title
SoC Architect
Role Summary
The SoC Architect will define and drive system-on-chip platform architecture using Arm IP across multiple market segments (mobile, automotive, datacenter, networking, IoT). This role partners with internal architecture, core technology, software teams and external partners to deliver production-quality silicon with strong performance and power efficiency.
Work includes platform definition, technical leadership of architecture features, coordinating IP delivery into partner SoCs, and maturing specifications for design and implementation teams.
Experience Level
Senior-level; requires approximately 10 years of semiconductor industry experience in senior development or leadership positions.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include defining SoC platforms, coordinating across teams, and driving partner engagements.
- Architect and design high-volume SoC platforms on advanced process nodes to meet performance and power targets.
- Define system and platform architecture based on Arm product IP and roadmap requirements.
- Collaborate with architecture, core technology and software teams to optimize end-to-end platform solutions.
- Coordinate on-time delivery of Arm IP into partner SoCs and ensure lessons learned shape future IP.
- Lead partner/customer architecture discussions and mature specifications for design teams.
- Identify key use cases and workloads; perform performance and power modeling and profiling.
- Manage multiple parallel engagements and scale work across partners and teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities.
- Significant experience architecting scalable SoCs across multiple market segments and advanced nodes.
- Expertise in several of: heterogeneous compute architectures, power management, clocking, coherent/non-coherent interconnects, PCIe/CXL, multi-level caching, profiling/debug, security and virtualization, memory hierarchies, 2.5D/3D packaging, performance/power modeling, soft real-time accelerators, and DRAM technologies.
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal and communication skills; ability to present to executive-level stakeholders.
- Proven ability to influence across engineering and business organizations and drive execution and change.
- Track record of delivering complex, to-specification projects on schedule while handling multiple engagements in parallel.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities and a readiness to challenge the status quo constructively.
- Proven history of timely delivery of multiple sophisticated projects in parallel.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (or closely related technical field) and approximately 10 years of experience in a senior development or leadership role within the semiconductor industry.
