SMTS Product Manager - Global Tapeout and Mask Organization

Role Summary

Lead product strategy, roadmap, and business ownership for tapeout engineering capabilities that support product configuration, design-data validation, and manufacturing readiness. Work with product lines, manufacturing fabs, tapeout engineering, and sales to modernize tapeout workflows and ensure accurate product definition and successful production.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The role requires extensive domain experience; the posting specifies 12+ years in semiconductor operations, product management, data management, or a closely related field.

Responsibilities

Own and deliver product capabilities that ensure correct product configuration and design-data verification from customer order through tapeout and manufacturing.

• Define product strategy, roadmap, release priorities, and backlog for product configuration and design-data verification tools.
• Ensure integration and a single source of truth from customer order definition through tapeout and manufacturing execution.
• Drive improvements in data quality, configuration governance, validation controls, and automated rules to reduce setup errors and verification mismatches.
• Translate business, technology, and manufacturing requirements into scalable product features and user workflows.
• Enable new technology nodes and manufacturing offerings by modeling and validating configuration options and verification methodologies.
• Improve platform usability, performance, automation, and scalability to accelerate onboarding and tapeout readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Product Lines, Sales, Manufacturing, IT) to prioritize enhancements and deliver solutions.
• Establish and track KPIs such as configuration accuracy, verification coverage, tapeout cycle time, respin risk, and user adoption.
• Create feature specifications, perform product functionality testing, and support training needs.
• Perform assigned duties in compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security requirements.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience required to perform the role; preferred items listed separately.

• 12+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor operations, product management, data management, or closely related domain.
• Proven experience owning software or data products end-to-end (roadmap through release).
• Working knowledge of semiconductor design data, DMs, PDKs, mask layers, and tapeout flows, or ability to ramp quickly in a technical manufacturing domain.
• Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and influence cross-functional technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication, planning, and organizational skills; focus on improving systems, documentation, and procedures.
• Experience defining KPIs and driving measurable improvements in operational processes and product quality.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field). Preferred: Master's degree in electrical engineering, chemical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
