Job Title

SMTS Foundry Technology

Role Summary

Act as the primary technical interface between internal engineering teams and external foundry partners to qualify technology, execute tapeouts, enable yield ramp, and ensure high-volume production readiness. Position is on the Operations Engineering team reporting to the Director, Foundry Technology in Taiwan.

Work spans process evaluation, yield improvement, tapeout execution, and cross-functional coordination with design and supply chain groups.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive yield improvement initiatives with foundries via data analysis (WAT, test data) and root-cause investigation.
  • Collaborate with foundries to implement process improvements and corrective/improvement plans.
  • Execute tapeouts to foundries, including GDS release, MT form preparation, and engineering lot planning.
  • Support technology evaluation for new process nodes and new foundry partners.
  • Coordinate with supply chain on wafer WIP management and production readiness.
  • Assist design teams with PDK usage, design rules interpretation (DRC/LVS), and process guidelines.

Requirements

Essential and preferred qualifications (education summarized separately).

  • Must-have: Strong experience in semiconductor process technology (examples: BCD, FinFET); hands-on experience with yield analysis and direct foundry interaction; practical experience with TSMC technologies and systems; experience executing tapeouts and engineering lot planning; excellent cross-functional communication skills; fluent in English and Mandarin.
  • Nice-to-have: Familiarity with PDK, DRC/LVS and IC design flow; experience in supply chain coordination for wafer WIP; experience evaluating new nodes or foundries.

Education Requirements

BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Fields mentioned: Electrical Engineering; equivalent experience accepted.
