Role Summary

Drive design wins and provide tapeout and post-tapeout support for APAC (Japan) customers using GlobalFoundries technology. Act as the primary technical interface between customers and internal GF teams to enable successful product development and silicon validation.

Collaborate with account managers, product marketing, design solutions, technology development, and Customer Engineering to identify customer requirements, remove technical barriers, and transition designs to production.

Experience Level

Senior — minimum 8 years of relevant experience in semiconductors, including end-to-end experience from concept to silicon validation.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities and typical activities for this role include:

  • Own technology demonstrations and lead design-win acquisition strategy and execution for assigned customers.
  • Serve as the single technical interface to customers; coordinate all technical sales interactions and internal resources.
  • Develop customized technical presentations, proposals, and design enablement materials to support customer evaluations.
  • Formulate customer requirements and propose compelling GF design solutions that convey the value proposition.
  • Identify gaps or bottlenecks in GF products and services and drive cross-functional actions to address them.
  • Coordinate tapeout logistics and execution, including readiness items (export control, IP declarations, frame tables) and resolving tapeout issues with internal experts.
  • Lead customer design reviews and mock tapeouts; define MPW/test-chip requirements and ensure alignment prior to tapeout.
  • Support Customer Engineering on post-tapeout activities, silicon functionality verification, product performance, design margin analysis, and issue resolution.
  • Monitor competitive and technology trends; continuously gather customer intelligence and uncover new opportunities.
  • Meet design-win, tapeout, and multi-project wafer (MPW) goals.

Requirements

Key professional requirements. Items labeled "Must-have" are essential; "Nice-to-have" are preferred.

  • Must-have: Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in semiconductor technology or design; E2E experience from concept to silicon validation.
  • Must-have: Exposure to IC product design and IP; familiarity with design enablement flows and tools.
  • Must-have: Solid understanding of silicon processing and device physics.
  • Must-have: Strong analytical, project management, presentation, and communication skills; sales aptitude.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience working with or within a foundry.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
