Job Title

Senior Firmware Engineer

Role Summary

Design, develop, and optimize embedded firmware for microcontrollers, SoCs, and custom hardware used in semiconductor products. Collaborate with hardware, silicon design, and validation teams to deliver robust, high-performance firmware throughout the product lifecycle.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 8+ years of experience in embedded/firmware development.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement, and debug low-level firmware for microcontrollers, SoCs, and custom hardware.
  • Bring up new silicon and support board-level initialization and diagnostics during hardware bring-up.
  • Profile and optimize firmware for performance, power efficiency, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (hardware, silicon design, validation) to define requirements and resolve system issues.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to firmware development best practices.

Requirements

Key qualifications and skills.

  • 8+ years of experience in embedded/firmware development.
  • Strong proficiency in C and C++ with experience in low-level debugging.
  • Experience with RTOS, device drivers, and hardware bring-up.
  • Familiarity with microcontroller and SoC architectures and debugging tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and mentor junior engineers.
  • Nice-to-have: experience with power/performance optimization and validation workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
