Job Title

Simulation and Modeling Lead

Role Summary

Lead cross-functional efforts to advance circuit simulation and compact-modeling capabilities for advanced foundry technologies. The role partners with EDA vendors, technology leaders, VLSI physical design teams, and PDK teams to ensure simulation solutions meet roadmap and PDK delivery timelines.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The position requires extensive industry experience (see Education Requirements for degree-related minimums); technical experience expectations include multi-year practical work supporting circuit simulation and compact modeling.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities focus on technical leadership, vendor collaboration, and delivery readiness of simulation and modeling capabilities:

  • Lead collaboration with EDA and simulation vendors to enhance, validate, and optimize industry-standard simulation tools and design flows.
  • Align simulation and modeling capabilities with technology roadmaps and requirements from VLSI physical design and PDK teams.
  • Drive readiness of high-quality simulation and modeling solutions to meet PDK delivery schedules.
  • Coordinate cross-functional validation and integration activities across engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Advise on simulation methodologies, compact-model interfaces, and tool flows for digital and analog design use cases.

Requirements

Must-have technical experience and skills; preferred items listed separately.

  • 5+ years supporting circuit simulation tools and working with circuit-simulation vendors to develop solutions.
  • 5+ years collaborating with EDA vendors to optimize circuit simulation and modeling for advanced technology nodes.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with BSIM or other compact transistor models at advanced nodes (e.g., FinFET, GAA).
  • 5+ years comprehensive understanding of compact modeling, simulation methodologies used by digital and analog designers, aging modeling methodologies, and modeling interfaces to simulation tools (e.g., OMI).
  • Proven ability to work across multiple teams and geographies to deliver technical solutions on schedule.

Nice-to-have:

  • Technical leadership experience, including leading teams focused on simulation and modeling (preferred 5+ years).
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills in multi-stakeholder environments.

Education Requirements

Degree and experience combinations specified by the employer: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with 12+ years of industry experience; OR Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with at least 10 years of industry experience; OR Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of industry experience in the semiconductor field. Fields: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering disciplines. No certifications were specified.
