Senior. Typical experience: at least 2+ years of hardware engineering or related work experience (see Education Requirements for degree/experience mappings).
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for the role include:
- Operate ATE and validate/debug new product functionality at wafer and packaged levels.
- Develop and maintain test hardware and embedded/host software for characterization and production test.
- Characterize devices across process, voltage, and temperature corners and document results.
- Release cost-effective, manufacturable production test programs for high-volume manufacturing.
- Collaborate with IC Design, software, systems, and operations teams to resolve issues and drive product readiness.
- Use measurement instruments and analyzers to collect and analyze test data; support data-driven yield and performance improvements.
- Maintain and operate laboratory and test equipment; ensure test reliability and repeatability.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience; see Education Requirements for degree details.
- 2+ years of hardware engineering or related work experience.
- Experience with production test development, validation, or high-volume manufacturing activities for SoC or related products.
- Hands-on experience operating Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, and network analyzers.
- Test hardware and software development skills; ability to debug instrumentation and test flows.
- Programming skills in Python and/or C/C++ and familiarity with embedded software or assembly.
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and work in a fast-paced environment.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Advantest or Teradyne ATE, JMP, National Instruments tools, or Exensio.
- Domain knowledge in CPU, logic test (ATPG), memory (SRAM, DRAM interfaces), high-speed SerDes, sensor validation, or CMOS analog/mixed-signal circuits (ADC, DAC, PLL, LDO, LNA).
- Familiarity with DFT techniques (scan/ATPG), JTAG, memory BIST, and schematic capture/circuit simulation tools.
- Experience with data analysis for test characterization and yield improvement.
Education Requirements
Qualifications stated in the source: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field (typically with 2+ years of hardware engineering or related experience); OR Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field (typically with 1+ year of hardware engineering or related experience); OR PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related field.
