Job Title

Silicon Test Engineer (Digital)

Role Summary

Member of the Product Development and Test Engineering team responsible for design validation, characterization, and production deployment of digital IP for advanced FinFET 5G SoCs. Work closely with IC Design, Software, Systems and Operations engineering to enable high-volume manufacturability.

Primary mission: validate and debug new silicon using automated test equipment (ATE), develop test HW/SW, characterize devices across process/voltage/temperature corners, and release cost-effective production test solutions.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Preferred candidates have roughly 1–4 years of relevant product development, test validation, or high-volume production experience; some roles list 2+ years for schematic/circuit simulation experience.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day responsibilities include engineering test development, silicon characterization, and production test readiness.

  • Operate and program ATE to validate and debug new product functionality.
  • Develop test hardware and embedded/software test routines for device validation.
  • Characterize silicon across corner conditions (process, voltage, temperature) and analyze results.
  • Define and release cost-effective production test solutions for mass manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with IC Design, software, systems, and operations teams to resolve issues and improve test coverage.
  • Use measurement and lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, logic analyzers, network analyzers) for debugging and verification.
  • Perform data analysis to drive test decisions and yield improvements.

Requirements

Key technical skills and experience. Degree information is summarized under Education Requirements below.

  • Must-have: Experience with ATE operation and silicon test/validation workflows; hands-on with test HW/SW development and device characterization.
  • Must-have: Familiarity with measurement instruments and lab debugging tools (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, logic analyzer, etc.).
  • Must-have: Programming experience for test automation and analysis (Python, C++, embedded languages or similar).
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation tools; 2+ years using these tools preferred.
  • Nice-to-have: Knowledge of VLSI digital design, CPU architecture, ATPG/Scan, memory BIST, high-speed SerDes, or sensor validation methodologies.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with Advantest or Teradyne ATE platforms and data-analysis suites (JMP, NI tools, Exensio).
  • Physical: Ability to move and install light equipment, work at benches for extended periods, and communicate continuously with team members.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science or related fields. (Source lists degree requirements explicitly; no certifications or explicit "equivalent experience" wording was provided.)
