Job Title

Silicon Test Engineer (Digital)

Role Summary

Member of the Product Development and Test Engineering team responsible for design validation, characterization, and production deployment of digital IP for SoC products in advanced FinFET processes. Work closely with IC Design, Software, Systems and Operations to enable high-volume manufacturability and cost-effective production test solutions.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Posting notes >1 year of product development/test validation experience and 2+ years using schematic capture and circuit simulation; suitable for candidates with approximately 1–4 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include test development, validation, and production readiness:

  • Operate and program Automated Test Equipment (ATE) to validate and debug digital SoC functionality.
  • Develop test hardware and software (bench setups, firmware, test scripts) for lab and production environments.
  • Perform characterization across process, voltage, temperature corners and release production test solutions for mass manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with IC Design, Software, Systems and Operations to resolve design/test issues and improve test coverage.
  • Use measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, network analyzers, etc.) to collect and analyze test data.
  • Implement and maintain test automation, data analysis workflows and test infrastructure.
  • Support high-volume production transitions and production debug activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience plus relevant hands-on abilities; preferred items are listed separately.

  • Experience in product development, test validation and high-volume production activities related to SoC (noted as >1 year).
  • Practical experience with schematic capture and circuit simulation (noted as 2+ years).
  • Knowledge of digital/VLSI technologies, CPU architecture and organization.
  • Proficiency in scripting or programming for test and automation (Python, C++, embedded languages).
  • Hands-on use of measurement/test equipment and the ability to perform electrical measurements.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional engineering environment and to communicate findings clearly.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with ATE vendors (Advantest, Teradyne) and test system debugging.
  • Familiarity with DFT/ATPG, JTAG, memory BIST, high-speed SerDes, and sensor validation methodologies.
  • Experience with analog/mixed-signal blocks (ADC, DAC, PLL, LDO, RF) and corresponding measurements.
  • Experience using data-analysis tools (JMP, NI tools, Exensio) and familiarity with embedded platforms (ARM, microcontrollers).

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering or a related technical field. Preferred: Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science or related field. (Degrees and fields specified in the posting.)
