Silicon System Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Drive validation of Meta's custom SoCs and end-to-end hardware/software systems for future AR products. Collaborate with architecture, IP, firmware, SoC, and system engineering teams to define and execute validation plans, reproduce and resolve silicon issues, and ensure power, performance, and quality targets are met.

Experience Level

Senior - 8+ years experience in silicon design verification or validation.

Responsibilities

Deliver and execute system-level validation plans, lead debugging and failure analysis, and report results to stakeholders.

• Develop, execute, and sign off validation plans and targets for SoCs and end-to-end HW/SW systems.
• Lead validation and debugging across hardware, firmware, and software components.
• Perform lab debugging, silicon bug reproduction, failure analysis, and reporting.
• Conduct power and performance analysis of complex SoCs and subsystems and identify optimization opportunities.
• Identify and communicate technical risks and propose mitigation strategies to project stakeholders.
• Partner with cross-functional teams during bring-up, characterization, and product integration.
• Adapt validation plans and targets to evolving roadmaps and project requirements in an agile environment.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience.

• 8+ years experience in silicon design verification or validation.
• Experience writing and debugging validation scripts and test automation (Python, C/C++, SystemVerilog).
• Proven ability to debug across hardware, firmware, and software stacks and lead failure analysis.
• Hands-on experience with lab bring-up, silicon bug reproduction, and failure reporting.
• Experience performing power and performance analysis of SoCs and identifying optimization areas.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and clear technical communication skills.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with tape-out, bring-up, and characterization of ASICs.
• Experience with graphics and display technologies.
• Experience with digital design, design verification, and firmware/driver development.
• Track record of independently driving validation efforts to completion and finding novel approaches to reproduce complex silicon issues.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is listed as preferred. Mentioned fields: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering.
