Job Title
Silicon SoC Architect
Role Summary
The Silicon SoC Architect defines and drives end-to-end system-on-chip architecture for modular, scalable SoCs across performance- and power-optimized product lines. The role collaborates with architects, design, system, firmware and verification teams to specify microarchitecture, integrate IP, and balance performance, power, area and timing trade-offs.
This position is part of Intel's Data Center Group and is eligible for a hybrid work model based in Bangalore.
Experience Level
Senior β 15+ years of relevant SoC architecture and development experience (as stated in the posting).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include defining SoC architecture, evaluating trade-offs, and driving integration and verification for new architectures.
- Define SoC architecture, firmware, hardware and platform specifications to meet performance, power, area, timing and configuration goals.
- Conceptualize and specify microarchitecture and architectural features for next-generation products across multiple segments.
- Evaluate feasibility and trade-offs; propose innovative architectural approaches and design alternatives.
- Drive integration and evaluation of existing IP blocks; specify glue logic or gaskets as required.
- Develop tests, test plans, and testing infrastructure; perform functional modeling and simulation.
- Analyze test results and benchmark performance using statistical methods; identify improvement areas.
- Influence cross-functional roadmaps and define technology targets for future SoCs.
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams (architects, design, system, verification) to resolve constraints and improve SoC designs.
Requirements
Key technical skills and experience expected for successful candidates.
-
Must-have:
- Extensive experience in SoC architecture fundamentals, microarchitecture and architecture methodologies.
- Proficiency in architecture definition, feature specification, RTL/logic development and system architecture integration.
- Deep understanding of performance vs. power trade-offs, clocking, reset, coherency, power management and performance evaluation.
- Experience developing tests, performing functional modeling/simulations and analyzing results.
-
Nice-to-have:
- Experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring SoC architecture teams.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to influence technical direction.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering. The posting specifies 15+ years of relevant SoC architecture and development experience with a Bachelor's degree.
