Silicon Photonic (SiPh) Sort Test Engineer
Role Summary
Develop and implement test solutions for silicon photonics (SiPh) devices used in Data Center and High-Performance Computing markets. Work on digital, RF and optical test strategies, integrate test flows on Advantest 93k platforms, and support operations of GF's SiPh test floor.
Experience Level
Mid-level. 3+ years of related laboratory, test development, or manufacturing engineering experience preferred.
Responsibilities
Accountable for delivering practical test solutions and supporting SiPh test floor operations.
- Develop and implement digital and RF test solutions on Advantest 93k tester; integrate digital and optical test strategies.
- Assign tester resources, write parsing/automation scripts, and analyze produced data to meet test specifications.
- Design and implement test cell improvements to reduce test time, increase accuracy, and expand tester capabilities.
- Become subject-matter expert in micro-positioning stages and probe systems.
- Interface with internal teams (Finance, Procurement, Logistics, Test equipment, Safety, Facilities) to support SiPh lab workflows and logistics.
- Create concise SOPs, cross-train with team members, and support other test objectives as needed.
- Perform work in a safe manner and comply with Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and hands-on experience required for this role.
- Strong hands-on engineering and debugging skills.
- Proficient in C++ and Python; familiarity with Git.
- Experience with data analysis tools (JMP, MATLAB, R) and scripting for automation and statistical analysis.
- Familiarity with lab instruments: oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, bandwidth measurement equipment.
- Experience with RF test design/implementation on Advantest 93k or similar tester; Advantest SmarTest 8 expertise is preferred.
- Probe card design experience (RF, DC, Optical) and calibration/de-embedding techniques are preferred.
- Experience bringing development solutions into high-volume manufacturing or working with OSAT partners is preferred.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, project management and organizational skills; English fluency (written & verbal).
Education Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent; equivalent practical experience accepted. (Posting lists bachelor-level degree as required and allows equivalent experience.)
