Job Title
Silicon Integration Design Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for SOC integration with a primary focus on power model generation, flow development, and methodology. The role collaborates across architecture, verification, software, and IP teams to produce accurate power estimations for FPGA products.
Experience Level
Senior. The role expects experience across the full development cycle, including delivery through tape-out; specific years of experience not specified.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities center on generating, validating, and consolidating power models and ensuring their usability by software and system teams.
- Define and implement power-model generation flows and methodology for SoC/FPGA integration.
- Collaborate with architecture, verification, software, and IP designers to plan and deliver power models.
- Generate power models covering multiple IPs and operating modes using schematics, SPICE simulation, Liberty files, and power reports.
- Map FPGA tool power calculations to subsystem or IP-level models for software consumption.
- Perform quality checks, consolidate IP power models, and ensure models meet software requirements.
- Correlate simulated power models with silicon measurements and iterate to improve estimator accuracy and customer experience.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience; a few items commonly considered advantageous are listed as nice-to-have.
-
Must-have: Experience through full development from start to tape-out.
-
Must-have: Proficiency in schematic generation using Cadence Virtuoso and SPICE simulation.
-
Must-have: Experience generating power numbers for ASIC IP and custom layout IP.
-
Must-have: Familiarity with floor-planning, power estimation, timing, and back-end methodologies.
-
Must-have: Linux scripting experience in at least one shell or Python.
-
Must-have: Strong written and oral communication skills.
-
Nice-to-have: Prior experience with FPGA power models and FPGA tool usage for power estimation.
