Silicon Engineer (ASIC Architecture)
Role Summary
Join Meta's Infrastructure ASIC team to help architect and validate custom accelerators for data-center machine learning and video workloads. You will work on architecture, modeling, kernel implementation, and performance validation to enable efficient, scalable data-center accelerators.
Experience Level
Mid-level — requires 6+ years of relevant experience in silicon architecture, modeling, or kernel/tool development.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include architecture and validation of ML accelerators for data centers.
- Design and develop data-center ML ASIC architectures, algorithms, kernels, and supporting tools.
- Analyze and map data-center workloads to ASIC architecture and build performance and functional models to validate designs.
- Implement reference silicon kernels and components required for pre-silicon validation and architecture evaluation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience.
- 6+ years of experience in silicon architecture, silicon modeling, performance architecture, kernel development, or silicon tools.
- Proficiency in C, C++, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Experience with computer architecture and tools for silicon development.
- Experience building custom silicon products and contributing to pre-silicon validation flows.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience writing and optimizing compute or collective kernels (CUDA or similar).
- Experience driving power vs. performance trade-offs and understanding GPU or other AI accelerator architectures.
Education Requirements
Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related areas. The posting explicitly allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of a degree.
