Job Title

Signal Integrity & Power Integrity Principal Engineer

Role Summary

Lead design, verification, and optimization of signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) across silicon, IC package, and board-level architectures. Collaborate with silicon, package, board, and validation teams to deliver robust electrical solutions that meet performance, cost, and reliability targets.

Drive development of SI/PI methodologies and advanced packaging strategies to influence future product architectures.

Experience Level

Senior — Principal level. Requires 15+ years of industry experience in Signal Integrity and Power Integrity engineering.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute SI/PI engineering activities across products and platforms.

  • Lead end-to-end SI/PI design for IC packages, validation platforms, and development kit hardware to achieve electrical performance and reliability goals.
  • Define and deploy SI/PI simulation methodologies using advanced EDA tools and AI-assisted techniques to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Perform detailed simulation, review, and trade-off analysis of package and board designs for scalable, robust electrical solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex system-level SI/PI issues involving electrical, mechanical, thermal, and manufacturing constraints.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define optimized electrical solutions that meet performance targets while controlling cost.
  • Drive forward-looking SI/PI technologies, including advanced and heterogeneous packaging solutions.

Requirements

Core technical skills and tool experience required or strongly preferred.

  • 15+ years of hands-on SI/PI engineering experience across silicon, package, and board-level designs.
  • Deep expertise in high-speed digital interfaces, SI/PI fundamentals, and power delivery network behavior.
  • Proficiency with simulation and modeling tools such as ANSYS HFSS, Synopsys HSPICE, Cadence Sigrity, Keysight ADS, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting, correlating, and validating simulation, design, and measurement data.
  • Hands-on experience with silicon/package/board layout and design tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics, Cadence Allegro).
  • Scripting and automation experience using Python, MATLAB, or similar languages (highly desirable).
  • Proven ability to solve complex, multi-domain SI/PI problems with a structured approach.

Education Requirements

Required: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with strong foundation in electromagnetics, circuit analysis, and signal processing. Preferred: Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
