Signal Integrity Engineer, Infrastructure Hardware
Role Summary
Lead the signal integrity (SI) methodology, design, analysis, and validation of high-speed interconnects across Meta's data center platforms (AI, networking, compute, storage). Work with hardware design, silicon partners, manufacturing, and platform teams to define SI/PI standards and ensure reliable Ethernet, PCIe, DDR, and optical links at scale.

Responsibilities
Deliver SI solutions and validation from simulation through lab correlation and production deployment across board- and system-level platforms.
- Develop SI/PI solutions for AI, networking, compute, and storage platforms.
- Perform signal integrity simulations and validation using industry-standard tools to verify channel performance and margins.
- Develop and maintain channel models, IBIS-AMI models, and S-parameter extraction workflows for board- and system-level analysis.
- Define and integrate on- and off-chip interconnect technologies into scalable platform designs.
- Define stack-up requirements, routing constraints, via structures, and impedance targets with design and manufacturing teams.
- Drive lab correlation and validation activities (TDR, VNA, oscilloscope measurements) to verify simulations and characterize channels.
- Partner with silicon vendors and ASIC teams to evaluate PHY specifications, equalization parameters, and link training behavior.
- Establish design guidelines, review processes, and SI sign-off criteria across infrastructure hardware.
- Identify systemic SI risks early and drive architectural trade-offs with hardware and mechanical teams.
- Mentor engineers on SI principles, simulation best practices, and measurement techniques.

Must-have:
- 8+ years of signal integrity engineering experience for high-speed digital systems (board- and system-level SI/PI analysis).
- Experience with PCB board-level design and layout and high-speed interconnects using merchant silicon ASICs.
- Proven track record designing and delivering SI solutions from concept through production deployment.
- Experience collaborating with ODM and OEM suppliers during design and production.
- Programming experience for test/measurement automation and/or simulation workflows.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience collaborating with silicon vendors on SerDes bring-up, equalization tuning, and compliance testing.
- Familiarity with advanced PCB materials, HDI, and evolving interconnect technologies.
- Background in open compute or hyperscale data center hardware development across full platform cycles.
- Experience with IBIS-AMI modeling, channel simulation automation scripting, and statistical eye analysis.
- Experience with 112G/224G PAM4 SerDes channel design, co-packaged optics, and optical channels.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
