SiGe HBT Device Expert
Role Summary
Responsible for development, characterization, and optimization of BiCMOS SiGeC devices to meet volume-production requirements. Member of the Advanced Technology Development team working with process, integration, reliability, packaging, circuit design and test groups to achieve electrical device performance targets.
Experience Level
Senior - requires extensive industry experience; posting specifies 10+ years as a Device/PI engineer working with SiGe HBT devices.
Responsibilities
Lead technical development and cross-functional execution for SiGe HBT components into production.
- Develop processes and components for next-generation BiCMOS SiGeC technologies.
- Drive TCAD (process and device) and high-frequency simulations, design of experiments, RF and DC characterization, and data analysis.
- Collaborate with process, integration, reliability, packaging, circuit design, test, and product teams to meet device targets.
- Plan and drive schedules, meet deadlines on parallel tasks, and lead technical discussions within and across organizations.
- Coordinate across development areas: process flow, device design, modelling, simulation, and reliability.
Requirements
Key technical must-haves and preferred skills.
- Must-have: 10+ years' professional experience as a Device/PI engineer working with SiGe HBT devices.
- Must-have: Strong device physics and semiconductor device engineering background; experience developing SiGe:C HBT transistors for RF/mm-wave applications.
- Must-have: Experience with device characterization (RF and DC), design of experiments, and data analysis to ensure robustness, reliability, and manufacturability.
- Nice-to-have: Hands-on SiGe HBT TCAD process and device simulation or high-frequency 3D field-solver simulation experience.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Cadence layout and circuit simulation; proficiency with MATLAB, JMP or other statistical/software tools.
- Nice-to-have: Proven track record delivering SiGe:C HBT components in a production flow and knowledge of silicon device manufacturing and BICMOS technology.
- Nice-to-have: Strong communication skills and ability to build cross-functional relationships.
Education Requirements
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics required. Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Physics is preferred.
