Job Title

Server SoC Security Architect - CCA

Role Summary

Design and define SoC- and system-level security architecture for datacenter/server platforms. The role collaborates with hardware, firmware, software, validation and product teams to deliver foundational security capabilities (root-of-trust, secure boot, attestation, key management, provenance, isolation and manageability) for next-generation server SoCs.

This position focuses on enabling confidential computing and secure operations across product lifecycle and deployment models for hyperscale and cloud-class environments.

Experience Level

Mid-level (Level - Mid-Career). Experience guidance in the posting: Bachelor's +6 years, Master's +5 years, PhD +4 years of relevant engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Primary duties include architecture, threat modeling, and cross-functional alignment to deliver secure SoC platforms for data center use.

  • Define SoC and system-level security architecture, trust boundaries, isolation domains and security invariants.
  • Architect platform root-of-trust and chain-of-trust across boot, runtime, attestation and update flows.
  • Design security architecture for cryptographic services, key lifecycle, identity/provisioning and anti-rollback protections.
  • Develop threat models and derive product security requirements mapped to architectural controls and validation plans.
  • Drive cross-functional security alignment across hardware, firmware, software, validation and product teams.
  • Monitor standards, security trends and emerging threats; apply findings to harden platform architecture.
  • Ensure architecture supports secure operations across manufacturing, deployment, service/repair and decommissioning states.
  • Produce architecture specifications, security analyses and design guidance for engineering and leadership audiences.

Requirements

Core technical skills and domain experience required or strongly preferred. Degree and years-of-experience are listed under Education Requirements below.

  • Must-have: Demonstrated SoC security architecture experience (secure boot, attestation, key management, isolation/access control, firmware/hardware provenance).
  • Must-have: Proven threat modeling and ability to derive security requirements tied to architectural controls and validation.
  • Must-have: Experience delivering security architecture for data center or hyperscale SoC platforms and driving cross-functional implementation.
  • Must-have: Strong technical writing and communication skills for engineering and leadership audiences.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience with heterogeneous multi-chiplet platforms, supply-chain/product-lifecycle security, and engaging with standards bodies or applying industry frameworks.
  • Nice-to-have: Track record of delivering security architecture in hyperscale or cloud-class products.

Education Requirements

Minimum qualifications in the posting: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field plus 6+ years relevant experience; OR Master's in those fields plus 5+ years; OR PhD in those fields plus 4+ years. Preferred: Master's in Computer Science/Engineering or Electrical Engineering. 'Related field' and equivalent practical experience are accepted per the posting.
