SerDes Signal Integrity (SI) Lead

Role Summary

Lead technical owner for signal integrity (SI) of SerDes high-speed interfaces. Works within the Analog/Hardware engineering team to define SI architecture, perform channel modeling and validation, and ensure signal performance and reliability for products developed in Sunnyvale.

Role combines technical leadership, cross-functional coordination with design, package, and PCB teams, and mentorship of SI engineers.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Lead SI analysis, channel modeling, and margin assessments for SerDes interfaces.
• Define SI methodology and validation plans; perform root-cause analysis of SI issues.
• Collaborate with architecture, circuit, package, and PCB teams to meet performance targets.
• Develop and execute laboratory and on-board measurements for high-speed links.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to SI and design engineers.
• Represent SI requirements in design reviews and drive closure of SI-related issues.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred qualifications:

• Must-have: Proven experience in SerDes signal integrity, channel modeling, and validation for high-speed serial interfaces.
• Must-have: Experience leading technical projects or engineering teams and collaborating across design, package, and test groups.
• Must-have: Practical experience with SI measurement and analysis on boards and channels.
• Nice-to-have: Background in analog or high-speed digital design and familiarity with industry SI tools and methodologies.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with SerDes PHY behavior, equalization techniques, and compliance testing.
