Lead SoC Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Hands-on post-silicon validation engineer focused on Automotive SoCs. The role centers on silicon and board bring-up, execution of validation test cases, SoC and system-level debugging, and contributing to validation infrastructure under the guidance of senior leads.

Position is part of the silicon validation team in Bangalore responsible for ensuring functional and system readiness of SoC releases through lab validation and debug activities.

Experience Level

Senior — approximately 6–10 years of post-silicon validation experience (job description references 6–10 years; earlier note mentions 7–10 years).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Silicon and board bring-up for new silicon and hardware revisions.
• Execute validation and regression test cases on silicon and board-level platforms.
• Debug SoC and system-level issues using trace tools, debug interfaces, and lab equipment; perform root-cause analysis.
• Develop and maintain validation scripts, test infrastructure, and automation components.
• Create and maintain test plans, results, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and work within structured processes under senior guidance.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience:

• 6–10 years of post-silicon validation experience focused on SoCs.
• Proficiency in Embedded C, Python, and CMM scripting.
• Good understanding of CPU architecture basics (ARM/x86), boot flow, interrupts, memory concepts, and caches.
• Experience with version control workflows (Git / Bitbucket) and Lauterbach TRACE32.
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and serial debug tools.
• Familiarity with protocols and subsystems: Ethernet, Aurora/LVDS, I2C, SPI, SRAM, interrupt controllers, and debug/trace subsystems.
• Strong debugging mindset, attention to detail, good documentation and communication skills, and willingness to work hands-on in lab environments.

Nice-to-have:

• Exposure to Automotive validation flows.
• Experience with RTOS-based validation environments.
• Interest in growing toward technical lead or leadership roles.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
