SerDes Optical System Architect
Role Summary
Lead signal-integrity strategy and system-level architecture for high-speed NRZ and PAM4 SerDes transceivers used in PCIe and Ethernet products. Work with 3DIC, package, design and verification teams to define channel requirements, validate performance, and ensure product compliance.

Responsibilities
Define technical direction and carry out hands-on system-level SI activities across SerDes product lines.
- Define and maintain SerDes SI requirements for PCIe and Ethernet products.
- Develop SI strategy with the 3DIC and packaging teams (bump-map, package escape, channel feasibility).
- Lead SI investigations, run simulations and measurements, and document findings.
- Sign off on testchip SI and RX/TX PFE design reviews.
- Support customer deliverables, debug cross-team interactions, and reduce time-to-market risks.
- Participate in industry SI workgroups and incorporate evolving standards into products.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and proven leadership in signal integrity for high-speed SerDes.
- Expertise in SerDes system and channel SI for PCIe/Ethernet at 128Gbps+ and 200Gbps+ signaling.
- Hands-on experience with IBIS-AMI, ADS, MATLAB, HFSS, and simulation-to-measurement correlation.
- Experience defining SI requirements, leading investigations, and producing clear technical documentation.
- Familiarity with industry SI requirements, standards, and participation in relevant workgroups.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills; customer-facing experience preferred.
- Nice-to-have: experience with optical applications and high-performance compute SerDes IP.
Education Requirements
M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering (specified in the posting).
